May kicks off the summer season and the official door-walking season for states with fall primaries.
This week’s S60S will hit ALL of these bases:
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
This week is Occupational Safety & Health Week, and
Public Service Recognition Week
Monday, May 6 is Melanoma Monday.
How do each of these tie to our VoteSharp subscribers (VoteSharp-ers with affection) AND you? We’re glad you asked!
Here are to two important tips for VoteSharp subscribers when you #gowalkdoors (#1, 2, 4):
When adding notes to a voter’s file about your interaction with them, please use voice recognition to avoid tripping over sidewalks, walking off porches, or into parked cars! There is no worker’s compensation plan for campaigning, though there are hundreds of occupational hazards – only some of which are mad constituents...
Wear sunscreen on any exposed skin – don’t forget your neck!
As for #3, please take a moment to send a quick text thanking a public servant you know. It doesn’t have to be an elected official – it could be your best friend who serves on a parks & recreation board, or your spouse who serves on your HOA board, or a neighbor who sings in the community choir. Each of these roles build our communities and grow connections between residents.
Happy serving & don’t forget the sunscreen!
