We have missed two weeks of Serve60Sharp and will explain that under separate cover. However, we wanted to get information out about today’s Primary Election in Kansas and Missouri. Yes, we know voting started 20 days ago and many of you have been asking for this! Stay tuned.
EVERY Johnson County voter has an election today! The big races in the Kansas City area are covered here by KCUR.
On the Republican side in Johnson County, we’ll be voting for:
Sheriff: Doug Bedford
Incumbent Cal Hayden served well until the last four years, when he began exhibiting signs of significant cognitive decline, disconnection with reality, and a consistent disregard for the rule of law - laws which he and his department are uniquely tasked to enforce. Stephanie’s comments in an Associated Press article this week.
District Attorney: David Greenwald (Though we wish we could vote for Vanessa Riebli!)
Incumbent Steve Howe has become complacent in the role and is not being aggressive enough in prosecuting crime, nor in hiring the additional staff required to keep up with crime - especially property crimes in Johnson County.
3rd District Congress: Karen Crnkovich
As long as Donald Trump is on the ballot, the winner of the Republican primary will be a sacrificial lamb, which is why no one has heard of these candidates. However, we’re always going to support successful women - especially those with small businesses and employees. Stephanie’s comments in an article last year in the Kansas City Star.
State School Board: Gina Montalbano Zesiger
You might remember Connie O’Brien from any one of a dozen school policy or funding debacles. Just no.
County Commission District 6: Shirley Allenbrand
Shirley works very hard for the people of SW JoCo. She worked really hard to beat Mike Brown, the current KS GOP Chair, and sent him into a Trumpian revenge spiral. These guys hate getting beat - especially by girls… Her primary opponents are of the same ilk. Let’s send ‘em squealing.
So are you recommending a vote for Kamala Harris? “We’ll always be voting for successful women”. And didn’t Shirley Allenbrand recently switch her affiliation to democrat?
