We wish you a fun and safe July 4th week, celebrating our independence and the rights we all share, especially my favorite, the right to vote!
July 4th also makes me think of fireworks - where they SHOULD and SHOULDN’T be! So we go back to the BINGO board for O1: Attend a Town Hall Meeting. Especially if you’ve had trouble connecting with your elected officials, your city/county/school or other groups host town hall meetings to engage the community, and they’re a great way to:
Stay Informed: Get the latest updates on local developments and policies directly from the source.
Voice Your Opinions: Share your concerns and ideas. Your experience and input can influence important community decisions.
🎆DO: Be respectful - remember what your mom said about honey vs. vinegar!
Meet Your Leaders: See your elected officials in action and ask them questions directly.
🎆DON’T: Threaten, harrass, be contentious or divisive. If you have a bone to pick, take another tip from mom - praise in public, criticize in private.
Connect with Neighbors: Meet fellow residents and build stronger community ties. Start a conversation!
Stay Engaged: Our previous newsletters provided tools to receive updates from units of government and elected officials. Engage and know your stuff!
Happy serving,
