It’s Girl Scout Cookie time! If your family is still selling, please add their cookie link in the comments so we can indulge our addictions… er… support them. The hubs and daughter are Thin Mint purists, but I’m a Caramel deLite junkie. What’s your favorite?
Today’s Serve60Sharp tip has nothing to do with cookies per se, but the concept of embracing a “tagalong” (original name of Peanut Butter Patties).
Want to give a neighbor or friend a break or make your kids’ friends’ parents’ days (double check my apostrophes)? Invite a kiddo (aka tagalong) with you on your next trip to Costco or to the mall. Even if it’s just for an hour. This is great for SO many reasons:
It keeps your kiddo entertained (winning!). The focus shifts to what’s different from your normal trips to the store, resulting in fewer “Mom. Ma. Mommy. Mom. Mama. Can I have XXX?”
It gives the parents a little break - even if they have multiple kids, having one less takes a little load off! It also opens the door for your kiddo to be the next tagalong:)
Read back through previous newsletters for ideas to grow authentic relationships with your neighbors. Given you’ve done that and have built trust, there’s not a parent on the planet who wouldn’t love to have the smallest bit of a break. Again, an hour or two to get more done (or just read a book)? YES PLEASE!
Happy serving, celebrating love, and the legacies of former POTUSes,
