What? You can’t read my mind and tone? 🥰😜🤣 Thank you to those who let me know I needed a correction - I WANT that feedback. To clarify:
Over the last year, we’ve focused on small commitment, high impact actions you can take to engage in your community, and created a BINGO card to help track those and “gamify” the interaction.
Today’s subject line: WE CALL: Show Us Your (BINGO) Cards
In poker, this means you match someone’s bet and they have to show you their cards to see if they have the highest hand.
We are asking to see your completed BINGO cards! I definitely should have used BINGO jargon…
The next two paragraphs below are this week’s newsletter, indicating the content below that is last year’s BINGO launch newsletter.

When we launched this challenge in January 2024, our business goals included expanding VoteSharp to more subscribers and avoiding campaign work. We all know how that went…
Our plans for summertime civic engagement training events fell by the wayside, so those obviously weren’t able to be crossed off, but everything else was doable. As a reminder, here’s the original email with challenge details.
Show us what you got!
Reply to this email with a photo of your BINGO card and a list of corresponding activities.
Bonus points: We’d LOVE to hear about what you learned! Funny? Frustrating? Other “F" words? Spill the tea!

2024 is a big year for anyone in the political arena - which is ALL OF US!! It’s our year. It’s your year. It’s our future’s year. It’s democracy’s year. Let’s get to work and recommit ourselves to service to each other and the public in general.
It’s Not Your Job
Understanding how our systems work and sharing that with people you know is an incredibly valuable (and measurable) community service, but it’s not easy. You have a lot going on. And also…
It’s not your job. Why should you be expected to know a lot about it?
We don’t know about your job, nor should we be expected to.
This stuff IS our job. Part of doing this work is to make understanding it easier.
Mission
It’s our mission to “Translate Politics Into English” so every voter is:
Informed about how politics and civics/government work and applies to their lives,
Equipped with the tools to be a resource on these topics for their networks and engage with elected officials, and
Empowered to put information and tools into action through informed voting and civic engagement.
The Challenge
To that end, we’ve created a checklist of (relatively) easy steps to take on your journey to more civic understanding.
Join us in 2024 for Serve60Sharp Civic Bingo!
Each week’s Serve60Sharp newsletter will focus on one of the Bingo blocks to provide ideas, content, and context for the activity. Oh yes, there will be prizes.
Prizes
More prizes will be announced throughout the year, but here are a few to get your civic engagement juices flowing:
Personalized notes from prominent leaders.
US Flag flown over the US Capitol or a state Capitol of your choice.
State flags flown over the state Capitol of your choice.
Tickets to civic and government-related events.
More to come: Send us your ideas for what YOU want to win!
License Plate frames and custom logo dog treats:
Rules/Housekeeping
Documentation: Only activities from January 12 - November 5, 2024 apply. If you’ve done any of these activities before today, that’s awesome. Keep up the good work. Doesn’t count.
Print this Bingo card and track the dates of each event and any supporting information - what was the result of your call to the US Senator’s office? Did your state legislator meet with you? What did your City Councilor say?
We want this to be fun - and easy! You can report-as-you-go, or track throughout the year and submit your Bingo card with the center square marked in November. Whatever is easiest for you!
Titles won’t always translate across states. Your City Council might be a Board of Aldermen, your County Commission a County Legislature, or for our Nebraska subscribers, you don’t have State Representatives (you wacky unicameral folks, you). You get the idea - the goal is to engage at each level - city, county, school, state legislative, federal.
Serve60Sharp event dates/locations are TBA in July and October, prior to the start of early voting. They will be live-streamed for the large quantity of subscribers not lucky enough to live in the KC metro:)
Please engage! Ask questions here, reply to an email, share your ideas.
Ready, Set, SERVE!
